The horror of the homicides, the unexpected and unpredicted attacks by a Muslim couple in San Bernardino, California has raised questions that pervade the democratic nation, especially at this crucial time of presidential hopefuls airing their opinions, and programs for future years. The event chart certainly points to a significant and multi-faceted nature of the intent and purpose of the couple who engaged in a cult-like operation. In the US historical background, we see a lot of gun violence and massacres using the same type of weapon. That is not a new or unique occurrence. There are overtones of a secret pact with a Bonnie and Clyde type execution to the perpetrators operation. Mars and Venus in Scorpio, in the 8th House, indicate that a death-pact was in the execution of the plan, along with the Jupiter and Moon in the 7th House, a practical arrangement and contract between the two.
In the undercurrent, there is also the contact with organizations that promote terror world-wide. The angular houses are significantly occupied by planets, showing the strong interest and questions that the act provoked. The sign Aquarius is on the ascendant of the event chart, and as Uranus is thus the ruler of the Ascendant, this has significance for the direction the US takes from this and as a turning point for action and future direction for the nation. Saturn as the most elevated planet, indicates the historical moment for political (in Sagittarius) and a philosophical stance for the nation at this crucial time. The Moon in Virgo, opposing Neptune in Pisces, also shows a tension with emotional obliteration, a loss and an expression of desperation on a personal level. A woman who has become isolated in a culture where she has few avenues of self-expression and lacks personal contacts, becomes, on a personal level, repressed, and prone to distress as a post-partum depression, again limiting choice on a personal level, and may have turned to this avenue in a psychotic phase, feeling an escape into a violent ending being culturally sanctioned, by groups she related to privately. Thus, I see elements of the personal, social and cultural combining in the life and death of the Farooks couple.
The major configuration of the chart, is the t–square operating, with the opposition of Mars in Libra and Uranus in Aries, with an orb of 5 deg and approaching the exact opposition, that will take place on Dec 11, 2015. However, as Pluto is in square aspect to the midpoint of that opposition, by less than 25 minutes of the arc, the opposition is brought into focus, and given a time-frame for action. The Moon is also trine Pluto and quincunx to Uranus, giving the action a spontaneous appearance. The underlying motivation and preparation was completed, they were just waiting for the moment implement the plan. A social and cultural celebratory event fit right into their agenda. They chose to give their act the appearance of a personal conflict in a cultural setting, thus confirming the motivation behind the planned attacks.
