The drama on the National and International stage, or The News, is an example we can all relate to in some way, and see the interaction of energies that are very relevant to astrological progressions of the time. Personal lives may intersect or diverge in similar patterns, although as each person has an inner cosmology as well, when relating to the overall placements in the zodiac, that could be quite at variance with the overall patterns. As it is impossible to relate to that inner cosmology without examining personal birth charts and the interacting aspects, please understand that personal lives may relate in some way to the overall readings of the day, although in a slightly different form, as you or anyone may respond individually and uniquely to current cosmological formations. Mercury in Scorpio this week supersedes Venus retro that was in exact conjunction on Monday. Mercury is the cosmic messenger, and will be in a sharp contrast to Mars in Aquarius, a goal directed energy. Then a trine aspect to Neptune from Mercury in Scorpio which will confuse, and dissolve. Near the end of this report on the 22nd, Mercury is in a sextile, friendly relationship, to Pluto, as our suspicions may be then confirmed.  A sense of finality is reached. There may be a time of renewal or a time of deep commitment and decisions that have a sense of finality. The Sun is then in the final degree of Libra, ready to make a transition into the fixed water sign of passionate Scorpio, while the Moon ingress to adventurous Aries marks a new cycle. Summary of Major Aspects of the Week Wednesday October 17th – The Moon transits into Aquarius today, conjunct to Rahu, the South Lunar Node. This seems to bring the past into focus, the recent past cycle especially. The square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Uranus also occurs at the ingress of the Moon to Aquarius, most likely revelations will be unpleasant, although probably predictable. Mercury doubly approaching the trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Neptune retro in Pisces, the social and universal water signs interact, a time to make emotional adjustments and to realign ourselves with the flow of time and history.

Thursday October 18th – The Moon transits to the conjunction with Mars after forming a square aspect (90 deg, harsh) to Mercury early today. This highlights impulsive Mars, triggered by the Moon, taking the high ground (Aquarius), while the square aspect to Mercury brings him back to earth, or rather the suppressed emotions (Scorpio) to meet realistic conditions. This could be productive in therapy as issues are exposed and open for discussion (Mercury). In another iteration, it may be a softening of the Mars aggressiveness with a harsh lesson (square 90 deg aspect) learned (Mercury in Scorpio).  The semi-sextile minor aspect, (30deg) between Mars and Neptune also adds a sense of universal archetypal energy where adjustments are made. Mercury doubly approaching a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) with Neptune retro in Pisces awakens deeper knowledge that is needed for healing of the universal soul.  This also works on the personal and community level. Friday October 19th – The Moon moves into the 3rd decant of Aquarius, while the Mars-Mercury conflict intensifies. Only by working toward a more evolved acceptance of humanity will there be a favorable outcome.  Mercury continues in the trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Neptune as discussions search for the universality in all conflicts. As Mercury supersedes the aspect (i.e., transits past partile), more clarity is achieved. The Moon is trine aspect to the Sun near the close of the day, as harmony may be established. Saturday October 20th – The Moon ingress to Pisces overnight with endless dreams and images, while a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Uranus in Taurus abruptly awakens more yearnings. The Moon is then in a trine aspect (120 deg, easy) to Venus retro, as more universal empathy is called into action. A more unified and universal approach is needed for solving the difficult issues of the era. Sunday October 21st- Mercury in Scorpio is approaching a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Pluto in Capricorn. Stories are told with intensity; secrets may be uncovered.  Exposing institutional crimes of sexual abuse comes about with individuals opening their lives to view. This should lead to transformation of cultural values (Uranus in Taurus).  Pluto is thorough and will galvanize (Pluto) the institutions (Capricorn) involved. Power and corruption that was suppressed are finally exposed. Monday October 22nd – Mercury in a sextile aspect (60 deg, helpful) to Pluto continues to dominate. We can’t usually communicate (Mercury) the unconscious (Pluto) although now there is a general cultural clearing of the past. The Sun in the final deg of Libra may seem more unbalanced than usual. Finding balance (Libra) through creative expression (Uranus in Taurus) is a mode for transformation. Tuesday October 23rd- The Sun is now at 0 deg Scorpio directly opposed to Uranus. There could be a compulsive exposing of issues, or reversing of roles, as a psychological projection gives power to the accused. A tug-of-war results, with no clear answers. The accuser and the accused seek to annihilate one another. While this may otherwise indicate subconscious memories that surface now, Venus in Scorpio is in a sextile aspect (60 deg, friendly) to Saturn in Cap, facilitates as we play J’accuse.
